There are buttons on the leg, are without legs with two or four holes. Buttons with large number of holes is not taken into account – they were extremely rare, being used only for decorative purposes. For us, first of all, important functionality.
Thread for sewing the buttons should be sturdy enough. To check it right easy enough to try to tear it by hand. If at the first attempt, without Herculean effort, you could do that, then the thread is strong enough. It is important not to overdo the thickness of the yarn, remembering that it should match the size of the button and fabric density.
For sewing buttons thread color choose the color of fabric, if the button without legs, when choosing colors of thread take into account the color of the buttons.
Pay attention to the length of the thread used for sewing. Folded in half, it should not be longer than the distance from the elbow to the wrist of your hand. Typically this value is about 30 cm.
Needle for sewing buttons, you should select not big and not small, the best option is a needle of medium size.
Initial fixation of the thread
Tucking the thread into the needle hole, you should tie it a knot at the ends or at one end if you intend to sew in single thread. Small buttons are sewn that way and, for larger sewing runs in two threads.
Having defined the location of the buttons, go to her fixation on the wrong side of the fabric. This can be done simply by running 2 or 3 small stitches, but you can do one stitch and pulling the thread to the end, into a loop to thread a needle with thread, and then gently tighten.
To sew on a button with the stalk need to thread the needle through the fabric from the wrong side, while entering it in the hole on the leg buttons, and then pull out the needle and thread on the front side. Punctures the fabric in the opposite direction, pulling the needle thread to wrong side.
Repeat the operation several times, trying to perform the puncture tissue in approximately the same place. When sewing two threads are to be four stitches, if your sewing on buttons runs in a single thread, the stitches will have to do twice as much.
Sewing buttons with holes is performed in a similar way, with a few differences. Securing the thread on the wrong side of the fabric in the manner described above, is 4 stitches per pair of holes when using a double strand or 7-8 stitches, when sewing is performed in a single thread.
It is very important to sew on a button so that it was not too close to the surface of the fabric. To withstand the necessary clearance, it is very convenient to use an ordinary match or a toothpick, placing it between the button and face of fabric.
After performing the required number of stitches a match or a toothpick taken from under the buttons and making the needle puncture the fabric with the wrong side, take it out of thread on the front side. Making the 5-6 thread turns under the button, the needle pierces the fabric in the direction of the back and pulls out her moans, pulling on the thread.
the Final commit thread
Capturing the needle a few fibers from the wrong side of the fabric or more previous stitches, stretch needle, but not until the end, and so that it form a loop. Threading the needle with thread, tie the knot. For secure fixation of the thread procedure should be repeated.
Then you have to cut off the remnants of the thread — favorite article of clothing is ready to wear.
Good luck to you ! You may sewn the buttons holding up on your pants or your shirt securely and firmly!
