OPAL in action: Ukraine complained of a sharp reduction of Russian oil transit

The Ministry of energy and coal industry of Ukraine reported that Russia and Europe have deprived Kiev of fees for the transit of Russian oil.

Transportation of oil from Ukraine to European countries in the period from January to November last year fell by almost 11%, i.e. by 1.5 million tons in comparison with the same period of 2015. The unemployment rate fell to 12.5 million tonnes. About it reports "Interfax-Ukraine" with reference to information from the Ministry of energy and coal industry. Data from the Ministry show that in November the transit of "black gold" has increased by more than 6% compared to the same period in 2015. The indicator amounted to 1.21 million tons. In turn, the volume of oil transportation to refineries of Ukraine for 11 months of last year reached the figure of 1.29 million tonnes. It is almost 13% less than in the period from January to November 2015. This implies that during the first 11 months of last year the share of transit volume of oil reached more than 90%, and the proportion of pumping to refineries of Ukraine amounted to almost 9.5 percent. Earlier edition of "Apostrophe.Economy" reported that "Naftogaz Ukraine" has registered a decrease in Russia of the volume of transportation of gas through Ukraine after Gazprom received advanced access to the capacities of the OPAL gas pipeline.
