Prepare the surface
First carefully washed the surface of the body. Wipe it dry and degrease with a solvent.Further, treated area should be sanded.
For sanding large areas of the body it is better to use a sanding machine, and if the ground area is small, so the workload is quite able to make hand grinding the tool – bar or by a special plane.

Choose a product
To fill deep dents on the body, door or the bumper, it makes sense to opt for a rough two-component putty with aluminum dust or fiberglass.
Align shallow dents easier two-component universal filler. Universal putty is used as the middle layer after layer of putty with fiberglass or aluminum dust.
If you want to hide small cracks and chips, quite a final two-component putty, which is used as the last layer on top of universal. Final coat — the softest and most easily worked.

What kind of spatula is better
Difficult one to answer. The fact that metal spatula allows you to more accurately and evenly apply a layer of putty. But suitable only for flat surfaces. While rubber or silicon is indispensable for processing convex or concave surfaces and body parts.
The use of metal spatulas are no special secrets, no, but for rubber and silicone it is a bit complicated. Do not buy too hard silicone spatula, do not forget that as soon as a little cold, reducing the temperature of the air it will become hard, almost like metal. Buying a rubber spatula it is important to select a tool of quality rubber, otherwise the rubber workspace very quickly start to unravel, until the appearance of gouges and pits.
Recruited spatula putty and pressing movements apply putty on the area being treated. Filling material on the surface of the body distributed confident and precise movements from top to bottom and from the center out.
It is not recommended to apply a coat of sealer with a thickness more than 2 mm. If you need to close the dent to go deeper, instead of one thick layer shpaklevki it is better to apply several thin, causing them one after the other as the drying of the previous layer.
The step of applying the putty is performed without undue haste, but without making smoke breaks, since the plaster "sets" of about 15-20 minutes.

At the end of grinding before your eyes will appear the following picture – a bright spot putty sanded with small patches of flat paint on the bottom of small pits and cavities, which are not sick of sanding paper. If that's the way it looks, and it happens quite often, again knead the putty, apply it on the body, dry them, progressivem developing coating and sanding again.
If upon completion of the sanding paper 80 grit, the entire surface of the filled area homogeneous light color without the black "control" points – congratulations, you did everything correctly and efficiently.
Remove dust and sanding again
Removed from the treated area all the dust. No matter what: air blow gun, vacuum cleaner, sticky wipe or brush, it is important that the working surface does not remain microscopic particles of the putty dust, deteriorating the adhesion of repair materials.
Go to the grinding surface of the grinding paper 120 grit with finer abrasive grain, do not forget to periodically remove from the workspace dust.
For the final part – the final putty
Final knead the putty and apply a thin layer at the repaired site. After drying, the sanding surface of the sanding paper P180 brand first, and then Р240. To obtain a perfect surface I advise you to modify the repaired site and paper Р320.
Sanding not only workspace, but also the adjacent areas with a paint coating.
Very harmful is the Board to wet the work surface when grinding. Explain why. The water will penetrate the porous surface of the putty and go inland and back to the surface will only be back in a few weeks. This will lead to corrosion of the body, peeling of the putty and the formation of point in the paint bubbles.
Upon completion of all putty-work and sanding before leaving the garage the repaired surface must be covered with a layer of primer. Now the vehicle's left to paint.
