At the conference for developers WWDC 2016 (the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference), held from 13 to 17 June in San Francisco, Apple presented the new OS version for iPhone and iPad – iOS 10.
However the presentation has not been announced one important feature – the ability to delete a stock app pre-installed on iOS 10. Already available to developers a beta version has this feature.
However, Apple senior Vice President Craig Federighi on a talk show with a popular blogger John Gruber has clarified the function of "removal" part of the signature built-in apps in iOS 10. He said that in fact the apps can't be deleted, but only removed from the home screen and clear the user data.
the list of applications subject to "disposal" include: Calculator, Calendar, Compass, Contacts, FaceTime, Find friends, iTunes Store, iCloud Drive, iBooks, Home, "Mail", "Maps", "Music", "news", "Notes", "Voice notes", "Clock" and "Weather".
In 2015, Apple CEO Tim cook said that this is a more complicated problem than it seems at first glance because the stock applications are interrelated and removing one of them may lead to errors in device operation.
On the support page posted a warning which says that in the case of "delete" stock apps may lose functionality of the device. For example, after deleting Music or Podcasts, they will be available in CarPlay. Although deletion of the Contacts application will not lead to permanent loss of contacts, they will be available in the Phone app".
iOS 10 will be released in autumn, as the OS update for iPhone 5 and newer, all models of iPad Air and iPad Pro, iPad 4th generation, iPad mini 2 and newer, iPod touch 6th generation. Therefore the device chipset does not support A5 iOS 10. Public beta testing will begin in July.
